Folkloric Dance program

The Folkloric Dance Program of the Hispanic Heritage Club of Hinesville is an initiative dedicated to preserving the rich cultural traditions of Hispanic and Latine communities. This program is designed to teach the traditional folkloric dances once celebrated by our ancestors to those in the Liberty County area. Through this initiative, we provide an opportunity for our locals to connect with their cultural roots while developing valuable leadership, teamwork, and communication skills in a supportive and safe environment.

Public performances are not mandatory, but they are encouraged. Our dancers perform at major events, including but not limited to:

The Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Savannah, GA

The Small World Festival - Hinesville, GA

Wild Adventures Theme Park - Valdosta, GA

Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival - Augusta, GA

Hispanic Heritage Festival - Hinesville, GA

Hispanic Heritage Kickoff at Georgia Southern University - Statesboro, GA

Perry International Festival - Perry, GA

Held every Friday and Sunday, our rehearsals are open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, whether you're a beginner or experienced dancer. We teach dances representing a wide range of Hispanic cultures, including those from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico and more. These dances not only showcase the beauty and diversity of Latin American heritage but also serve as a fun and engaging way to build self-confidence and cultural pride.

While our program is rooted in cultural education, it is so much more than just learning how to dance. We provide a space where people can come together, share experiences, and grow as individuals. The skills developed in our Folkloric Dance Program extend far beyond the dance floor, fostering discipline, teamwork, creativity, and a sense of community among participants.

All dresses and costumes are provided free of charge; the only cost is for dance shoes ($20). Our practices are held at a local church and made possible through generous donations and community support. We believe that everyone—regardless of age, background, or experience, should have the opportunity to participate and reconnect with their heritage through the joy of dance.

By joining our Folkloric Dance Program, you’re not just learning a dance — you’re joining a community that celebrates diversity, unity, and cultural pride. Whether you're seeking to embrace your own roots or explore a new cultural experience, we welcome everyone to be a part of this exciting and enriching journey.
